CherryOnTop Restaurant Pick: Joy Burger Bar

With the blazing heat of summer upon us, now is the time to opt for small, quick delicious meals. My latest discovery, Joy Burger Bar, offers just that. It has the charm of an old-fashioned diner fused with a hip trendy bar. The menu is filled with delectable fun choices, including Skirt Steak Salad ($8.95), Avocado Salad ($8.95), Grilled Chicken Sandwich ($7.95), Zucchini Sticks ($3.95) and Spicy Chicken Wings (1 lb. $6.95). But unsurprisingly, the highlight of the menu is the burgers. Made from 100% fresh ground beef (also available in turkey and veggie), they start at 3 oz and go up to 8 oz in size. They also feature homemade sauces like Garlic Mayo, Chimichurri, Pesto, Spicy Mayo, BBQ, Spicy Mango Chutney, Dijon Mustard and Sweet Chili. Joy Burger Bar’s decor is somewhat modern with a mod twist. It boasts a bar where you can order a cold beer or sip a glass of wine, and the colorful chairs and Tiffany style Coca-Cola lamps give the restaurant a 50s retro vibe that inspires nostalgia.
