Clear Channel Announces iHeartRadio Music Festival

Clear Channel is organizing a weekend festival in conjunction with the launch of the new iHeartRadio app/service. The iHeartRadio Music Festival will be hosted by American Idol star, Ryan Seacrest, and features top artists across all genres of music. The all-star lineup includes Lady Gaga, Coldplay, The Black Eyed Peas, Alicia Keys, Nicki Minaj, Jennifer Lopez, John Mayer, Bruno Mars, and Kelly Clarkson, with special guest performances by Usher and Sting (more performers will be added throughout the summer). The concert is being billed as the “biggest live music event in radio history.” The festival will be streamed live on the iHeartRadio website, as well as the iHeartRadio app.

The new iHeartRadio app is looking to take a bite out of Pandora’s popularity. The new app offers access to more than 750 Clear Channel stations, 150 digital only stations, which allows more control, songs, and content, the ability to create playlists, and commercial-free music through the end of the year.

The iHeartRadio Music Fest will be held in Las Vegas at the MGM Grand on September 23-24. Tickets for the event go on sale July 23.
