Queen Latifah Covers More Magazine, Talks Her Plans To Adopt

  • Queen Latifah appears on the cover of the December/January issue of More magazine and goes into detail about her plans to adopt, something she reveals she’s wanted to do for years. She said:

“I’m definitely going to adopt – or have – a child. I’ve wanted to adopt since I was 17 or 18-years-old.”

The New Jersey native also talked about her beloved brother Lance Owens, who died 20 years ago in an accident on the motorcycle she bought for him as a present:

“I think the most important thing I’ve learned is to not stop living. I know for a fact that my brother would not want me to stay right there, stuck in that misery. If the person who you lost loved you like you loved them?

There’s no way they would not want you to live your life to the maximum, to appreciate it, to go for your dreams, go for your goals.”

And going for her dreams and goals is exactly what she’s done. As we previously told you, the Queen’s next movie, Joyful Noise, hits theaters on January 13, and she’s set to host a new daytime talk show in 2013.
