Charli Baltimore Talks New Album, Movie And The Notorious B.I.G. With Cherry Martinez

Our very own Cherry Martinez had the pleasure of sitting down recently with hip-hop veteran Charli Baltimore for #GirlPowerMondays. The twosome covered a variety of topics during their chitchat, including the former Murder Inc. recording artist’s hesitation to reenter the recording industry, her new album and movie (Gang of Roses 2), how her then-boyfriend, the late, great Notorious B.I.G., discovered her skills as an emcee, and why she refuses to watch the Notorious movie. Check out some of the highlights from the interview below:
ON HER NEW ALBUM:
“…working on an album, well actually, we’re finishing up the album. The album will be out in April. About to put out the first single, and we got a lot of interesting stuff coming up.”
ON HOW B.I.G. DISCOVERED HER SKILLS AS AN EMCEE:
“B.I.G., knowing I rapped, just came about it by accident. We were playing around one day, and I started like rapping. And he was like, ‘Are you really rapping right now? You actually got a little skills.’”
