Gayle King Denies Rumors That Oprah Winfrey Is Blue Ivy Carter’s Godmother

  • Oprah Winfrey’s BFF Gayle King has denied rumors that the media mogul is be the godmother to Jay-Z and Beyoncé’s new baby girl, Blue Ivy Carter. Yesterday she told The Early Show:

    “It’s absolutely not true that she’s the godmother. She’s friends with them, of course, and likes them both very much. She’s working on sending them a baby gift. She hasn’t even had time to send a baby gift because she’s been away.”

    Gayle added:

    “Let me just say, if (that report is) true, it is news to her. It is news to her. You know, she was heading to South Africa when the baby was born.”

    We wouldn’t be mad at all if Jay and Bey ended up deciding to ask Oprah to be Blue Ivy’s godmother…if I were that rich, I would want my children’s godparents to be even richer!!
