Restaurant Pick: Mamajuana Cafe

  • The elegant decor and ultra professional staff at Mamajuana Café are a huge part of its appeal, but the amazing food is what will have you craving more. The staff couldn’t be anymore friendly and accommodating – be prepared to feel pampered and welcomed.

Chef Ricardo Cordona is heralded as a pioneer of Nuevo-Latino Cusine. The Dominican inspired menu has dishes filled with bold flavors and modern flair. Appetizers like Guacamole served with Carribean Chips, Rum Glazed Shrimp served over Sweet Plantain, Dominican Sausage Hash and Vegetarian Quessadilla are highly recommended. Highlights of the dinner menu include Churrasco Frites – grilled steak topped with softito Chimichurri, served with garlic fries. Mamajuana Paella – saffron rice, chorizo, calamari, shrimp, clams, mussels, and lobster. Salmon A La Parrilla – grilled salmon over eggplant torreja, truffle mash potato. Pollito Al Ladrillo – cornish hen with potato and wild mushroom chorizo hash with Sherry au jus. On Friday and Saturday, Mamajuana hosts live DJs spinning until 3am. They also feature a full bar that undoubtedly serves the best Margaritas in the city.
