Producer/rapper Timbaland has signed with Jay-Z’s Roc Nation label. The hip-hop mogul revealed the news the other day by posting a picture of him and Timbaland on his blog site, Life + Times, with the caption, “Roc Nation welcomes TIMBALAND to the family.” The duo has consistently collaborated with each other over the years, most recently on Justin Timberlake’s latest, “Suit & Tie”.
Tatyana Ali, better known as Ashley Banks from the hit 90s sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, was photographed the other night getting birthday love in the form of a kiss and hug from Drake. The Canadian born rapper made a surprise visit to the Second Generation Wayans star’s birthday party at the Supperclub in Los Angeles, treating her to roses and a bottle of Ace of Spades.
Drake must have heard about Tatyana’s interview with The Huffington Post earlier this month, during which she talked about what she would call her reality show if she ever decided to star in one. She said:
“’Dirty Laundry,’ or ‘I Love Drake!’ — in which I stalk him on tour and try to make him realize we’re meant to be together. God, I love his voice.”
Judging by the pic, we don’t think Drake would mind her stalking him. Do we sense a ‘new couple alert’ post for these two in the near future?
HTC has announced that it will be unveiling a new phone on February 19 in New York City. While we’ll have to wait to find out exactly what phone it is, many expect it to be the successor to its HTC One X series.
Currently code-named the M7, the unknown phone is expected to sport a quad core processor, 2GB of Ram and a 13 MP. Its screen is expected to be 4.7 inches with full 1080p resolution, which will amount to a PPi of 468, the highest of its class.
Even though it will be the successor to the One X, the M7 is expected to take design cues from the HTC DNA and be less curvy. The M7 is expected to be available on Sprint, Verizon and AT&T.
Rick Ross isn’t playing games with his safety in the wake of a gunman opening fire at his Rolls Royce earlier this week. Reportedly, the “Hustlin'” rapper has hired 24-hour armed guards to keep him safe. According to TMZ:
“Ross — aka Ricky Rozay — was already using armed bodyguards for protection at major events like concerts and public appearances … but now he’s decided he wants a full-time security detail.
Ross was targeted in a drive-by shooting in Florida early Monday morning … when a car pulled up next to his Rolls-Royce and opened fire. Ross lost control of the vehicle during the incident and crashed into an apartment building.
Sources close to Ross tell TMZ … the rapper had been getting threats for a while … but he wasn’t too concerned. But we’re told Ross considers the shooting to be an ‘eye-opener’ and will do whatever it takes to keep himself safe.”
And we can’t say that we blame him…it just may turn out to be the best investment Rick will ever make. Then again, we’re not 100% sure about the authenticity of this “assassination attempt.”
Whenever you dream of that bag of chips, wake up and reach for that bag of unsalted, unshelled pistachios or peanuts. If you want something more flavorful, oranges are just as effective since they require some work before you can eat them. These and similar foods make you put in work, which forces you to slow down and makes you more aware of your calorie intake.
The NFL is denying reports that Beyoncé is being difficult and making extravagant requests as she prepares for her halftime performance at this Sunday’s Super Bowl. Allegedly, the “Crazy In Love” singer’s diva-like demands include $6,000 in alcohol and cigars for Jay-Z, as well as a temperature controlled room for her and Jay’s daughter, Blue Ivy.
However, Brian McCarthy, the NFL’s Vice President of Communications, has denied the reports, telling TMZ, “Beyonce and her team have been great to work with throughout this process… We have enjoyed her creativity, vision and spirit in putting on a great show that is truly a Super Bowl performance.”
The cover of the March edition of Rolling Stone featuring Rihanna has been released. Instead of showing a lot of skin, the magazine will feature a close up of the Barbados born singer’s face. Of course no Rihanna interview is complete without questions about Chris Brown. Check out some highlights below:
ON REUNITING WITH CHRIS:
“I decided it was more important for me to be happy. I wasn’t going to let anybody’s opinion get in the way of that. Even if it’s a mistake, it’s my mistake. After being tormented for so many years, being angry and dark, I’d rather just live my truth and take the backlash. I can handle it.”
ON THE POSSIBILITY OF CHRIS BEING VIOLENT WITH HER AGAIN:
“He doesn’t have the luxury of fucking up again. That’s just not an option. I can’t say that nothing else will ever go wrong. But I’m pretty solid in the knowing that he’s disgusted by that. And I wouldn’t have gone this far if I ever thought that was a possibility.”
French Montana has unveiled the cover art for his debut album, Excuse My French. The cover features a young man walking in the desert with French Montana-like clothing. At first glance, it doesn’t make much sense, but once you remember that French was born in the desert country of Morocco, it makes more sense. Bad Boy President Harve Pierre told Rolling Stone:
“It is about the journey of an artist that has come from Morocco to New York and worked his way to becoming one of hip hop’s hottest movements.”
Excuse My French hits shelves everywhere April 16.

Chris Brown is denying he started the brawl with Frank Ocean over the weekend at a Los Angeles area recording studio, and he’s eager to talk to cops to tell his side of the story. According to TMZ:
“Law enforcement sources tell us … Chris’ lawyer, Mark Geragos, has already contacted detectives and said the singer is ready, willing and able to give them the blow-by-blow, because he knows he did nothing wrong.
What’s more … sources say Geragos’ team has surveillance video of the last part of the fight, and Chris is as clean as a whistle — not throwing a single punch.
But here’s the thing. We’re told the video also clears Frank Ocean — he never takes a swing at anyone. The fighting is between the two posses.
The video, however, is not the be-all and end-all, because it only captured the back end of the fight. The altercation began in the parking lot and no cameras were trained on the action. So it doesn’t show who started it. The fight moved into the lobby, and that’s where the camera captured the brawl.
Chris’ account is radically different from a witness who claims Chris threw the first punch.
As for why Chris booked it before cops arrived, we’re told Geragos gave him the strictest of instructions … if he ever got in a situation where trouble was brewing, he MUST leave immediately.”
Chris was photographed leaving his home on Tuesday sporting a cast over his right hand. If we told you we thought Frank could do that much damage in a fight, we’d be lying.
Rumors have been swirling that the ladies of Destiny’s Child will reunite during Beyoncé’s über-hyped halftime show at this weekend’s Super Bowl. Supposedly, the ladies were expected to perform a medley of their biggest hits, topping things off with their new song, “Nuclear.” The performance would be the first time the trio has performed onstage as a group since 2007, but Michelle Williams told WRUG Media in a recent interview:
“I’m going to be in the musical Fela! I hate to disappoint the people and tell them that it’s not true. I’m so sorry. I’m so sorry, but we did record a song with each other before the holidays.”
It sounds like a denial, but it’s a very weak one. I wouldn’t count out the ladies reliving their Destiny’s Child glory days on the Super Bowl halftime stage just yet. Check out Michelle and her super questionable denial in the video below. Do you believe her?
A little preparation goes a long way to keep you away from car troubles during the winter months. Not only will the right tools and maintenance protect you and your car from the elements, but they will also keep you safe. When it comes to de-icing your car’s frozen windows, having the right equipment can help you avoid hefty repair bills in the long run.
Two of the most popular mistakes also happen to be the costliest – jumping into your car and switching on your heaters full blast or pouring hot water onto the windows to dissolve ice. The drastic change in temperature can cause the windshield to crack.
Instead, here are some recommended de-icing options:
• Run your car for ten minutes to warm up before turning on the heater.
• Make the de-icing process easier by coating your windows with a de-icing fluid. In the case of windshields, one of the handiest and most economic de-icing solutions is Rain-X. This will not prevent ice from forming on the windshield, but it makes ice removal a quick and easy process by preventing the ice from directly bonding to the glass.
• Use an ice scraper. Ice scrapers allow you to safely remove ice without scratching the windows – or breaking your credit card.
T.I.’s 10-year contract with Atlantic Records ended last month, and apparently, he’s not wasting time looking for a new label home. Reportedly, the “Ball” rapper has set the price tag for his talents at an incredible $75 million!! According to TMZ, that figure includes 3 albums, 10-20 percent of publishing, touring, merchandise, film and TV rights, corporate endorsement deals, and exclusive signing of all Grand Hustle artists.
Although T.I. has previously expressed satisfaction with Atlantic, he reportedly continues to meet with other labels, including Jay-Z’s Roc Nation, but is not feeding into the media hype surrounding the bidding war for his services. He recently told The Urban Daily:
“[laughs] Hey look man I see all that sh*t man…I respect my present partners at Atlantic records and had there ever been a separation between them and myself I would respect my new partners in such a way that I’m not gonna sensationalize anything. They give me my fair market value for what it is I have to offer. And if you want to be in business with me let’s give each other %110. But just going out and doing gossip type stories that ain’t a huge part of what I do.”
“…I’d love to stay where I am. It’d have to be shown that the feeling is mutual and the way you do that is on paper with commitment to dollars.”
In other words, if Atlantic wants to keep one of their biggest stars, they need to show him the money!!!
While most people were wishing Rick Ross well after his car got shot at before crashing into a building, 50 Cent was questioning whether or not it actually happened. Shorty after the story broke, 50 posted a photo on Instagram of the crime scene along with the caption “Hahaha fat boy hit the building?lol it looks staged to me. No hole’s in da car.”
Despite 50’s opinion on the matter, police are gathering footage from a camera located near the scene of the shooting, and have confirmed that Rick Ross was driving the car while his rumored girlfriend sat in the passenger seat.
