In photos just released by NBC, Usher looks right at home gracing one of the big red coaches’ chairs on the set of the hit reality talent competition, The Voice. Usher and Shakira replace Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green for season 4 of the show, and the R&B superstar revealed during a recent interview what his coaching style will be, saying:
“My style is more military than anything because I’m all about the preparation. My style is to make them understand the seriousness of the craft and that they have the very best opportunity to be the greatest — or the worst — depending on how you take it.”
The Voice returns on Monday, March 25 at 8 pm. Check out Usher and Shakira in their big red chairs below.
As we previously reported, Cee Lo Green is under investigation because of allegations that he sexually assaulted a woman. The Atlanta singer/rapper is accused of slipping something into the woman’s drink while the duo were having dinner at a Los Angeles restaurant and sleeping with her. Allegedly, the woman has proof of the assault in the form of a recorded conversation between she and Cee Lo during which he apologizes and makes reference to the drug MDMA (Ecstasy).
In response to the serious allegations, Cee Lo is vehemently denying the woman’s story, calling her accusations “despicable, untrue, and deeply hurtful.” A rep for the music star said in a statement:
“Given that the matter is under investigation, we obviously cannot speak as freely as we like. What we can say is that these allegations are despicable, untrue, and deeply hurtful to Cee Lo, his children and his family. We are confident that when all the facts come out, it will be clear that if anyone was victimized here it was Cee Lo. In the meantime, Cee Lo is deeply grateful for the overwhelming support has received from his fans, his friends, and his colleagues.”
Cee Lo, who’s currently a judge on the reality talent competition The Voice, is taking a break from the hit NBC show next season, saying of his upcoming hiatus from the show during a recent interview, “I had a couple of other things that I wanted to be able to do.” Unfortunately, one of those things now includes clearing his name of these nasty accusations.
As we previously reported, Cee Lo Green has been accused of sexual assault. However, you might be surprised to find out that he actually had an ongoing relationship with his accuser. The two met and spent time together during Super Bowl weekend in February. After returning to their respective homes, the two kept in touch, with Cee Lo even flying the woman out to visit him from time to time. As if paying for her flights weren’t enough, sources say that the woman would ask Cee Lo for expensive gifts, and even contacted his friends to figure out how to get what she wanted.
As for the night in question, sources close to Cee Lo say there was no funny business. He flew her out to LA as usual, went to the restaurant that is at the center of the investigation, took Ecstasy and “stayed up all night.” We’ll keep you posted as this story unfolds, but something isn’t quite adding up here.
As we previously told you, Cee Lo Green is the target of a sexual assault investigation after a woman claimed that The Voice star took advantage of her while they were having dinner inside a popular Los Angeles sushi restaurant. Reportedly, the accuser alleges she doesn’t remember anything in between having a drink with Cee Lo at the restaurant and later waking up nude in a room with the rotund music superstar. Several employees of the restaurant have been interviewed about the alleged incident, which the accuser told cops took place several months ago. And although Cee Lo has denied the accusations (he told TMZ that “nothing ever happened there or anywhere else”), the “F**k You” singer has allegedly been caught on tape incriminating himself during a conversation he had with the “victim”. According to TMZ:
“Sources involved in the case represent to TMZ …Cee Lo is on tape, repeatedly apologizing and referencing MDMA (Ecstasy) — though he does not specifically say he put it in her drink. Sources say Cee Lo told her he thought the drug would help them have an exciting time together. For the record, MDMA generally does not render people unconscious.
Sources connected with Cee Lo scoff at the claim, saying if the tape contained such admissions Cee Lo would already be under arrest.”
According to Cee Lo’s camp, the accuser and her lawyer demanded money from Cee Lo to keep quiet about the alleged incident. They then went to cops when their demands were not met.
Once police complete their investigation, the matter will be referred to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.
Cee Lo Green is in the middle of an LAPD sexual battery investigation, but few details have been released so far. According to TMZ, the identity of the victim and the nature of the assault is under wraps, but the LAPD has been questioning employees at a restaurant in Downtown LA in connection with the case. However, Cee Lo says he hasn’t been to the restaurant in months, and insists that “nothing ever happened there or anywhere else.” Although no formal charges have been filed, a source very close to the singer is arguing his innocence, and denies ever seeing “Cee Lo act in a physical way toward anybody.”
Cee Lo Green continues to rack up the acting credits. The singer-songwriter, rapper, record producer and actor has recently been cast in the romantic drama Can A Song Save Your Life?. According to Deadline.com:
“Cee Lo Green has joined the cast of Can A Song Save Your Life?, the romantic drama written and being directed by John Carney that already stars Mark Ruffalo, Keira Knightley, Hailee Steinfeld, Catherine Keener and Green’s fellow The Voice judge Adam Levine. Production is set to begin next month in New York. The Grammy-winning Green will play a successful hip-hop star in the film, about a woman (Knightley) who tries to make it in the music biz with the help of a down-and-out music producer (Ruffalo).”
Cee Lo can next be seen in the soon-to-be released remake of Sparkle starring the late Whitney Houston.
Sparkle hits theaters everywhere August 17, and a new poster featuring Jordin Sparks has just been released!! Sparkle is a remake of the 1976 film of the same name, which centered on three singing teenage sisters from Harlem who form a girl group in the late 1950s. Along with Jordin, the film stars Derek Luke, the late Whitney Houston, Mike Epps, Cee-Lo Green, Carmen Ejogo, Tika Sumpter, Tamela Mann and Omari Hardwick. Check out the poster below:

Cee Lo Green is the latest act booked to perform at the upcoming “Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.” The “Fu*k You!” singer joins a roster of A-list recording artists and supermodels that have already been lined up to perform and walk in the show. According to MTV.com:
“The broadcast, which had already booked fashion maven Kanye West and Maroon 5 to play the show, will feature a galaxy of supermodel runway queens, including Candice Swanepoel, as well as Adriana Lima, Alessandra Ambrosio, Miranda Kerr, Doutzen Kroes, Erin Heatherton, Lily Aldridge and Lindsay Ellingson. It is Green’s first appearance on the show.”
The “Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show” airs on November 29.
Cee Lo Green has had a very busy year. The Grammy Award winner is a judge on NBC’s The Voice and may have been too swamped to star in his own video for “Cry Baby,” the newest single off his latest LP, Lady Killer. That may explain why Jaleel White, who played the now iconic TV character, Steve Urkel, on the popular 90s sitcom Family Matters, is starring in it instead.
In the video, White comes off more like Urkel’s smooth alter-ego Stefan Urquelle. He ends a relationship with a girl, then breaks out into song and dance. Impressively, White looks amazingly sharp in his cardigan and retro plaid pants.
Casting Jaleel White as Cee Lo Green was an excellent choice. However, Cee Lo isn’t taking credit for the casting choice. He recently tweeted, “I had no idea they shot a video for “Cry Baby.” I hear it is cool though.” Hopefully, he was just joking. Check out the video below:
